Me hit. They run

After over 2500km this year on my bicycle the inevitable event happened: I was involved in a car accident. Not just any accident! A HIT AND RUN!

This car decided to turn left in front of me while I was travelling East on Fourth Avenue. It was the slowest turn in the world. He had NO idea that I was there. I smacked into his side rear and catapult over the back end of the metallic blue car. I can confirm the metallic blue because I pulled a paint chip out of my cut finger. I landed about 7m from the point of collision only to find that the car had decided to continue his forward motion and DRIVE AWAY! Yes...I said drive away. I was way to foggy to read his plates as I attempted to chase the card down the road fueled by nothing but adrenaline I was so mad I was yelling profanities not to be recorded on this report and I sensed that the driver was seeing if I was ok. I guess I scared him because he would NOT stop.
My wife came to collect me and take me to the hospital.

I am angry. Bruised, cut, stitched, x-rayed, tired, and incredibly angry.

ps yes. I was wearing my helmut

I hope you aren't too injured and I hope you left a large, expensive dent in the bastard's car.

The Blog

My name is Malcolm and I was a volunteer at Canuck Place Children's Hospice in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for nearly seven years. Now I support them by raising money by participating in the Canuck Place Adventure Challenges!

I said hospice. Not really a word that you associate with children but there you go. We will tell you about the house as this blog progresses with the hope that you will learn, and as you learn we hope that you will share. The purpose of the Adventure Challenge is to raise money for AND awareness about Canuck Place.

The name of each kid at the house you read about has been changed.

September 14th and 15th are the dates for the next Adventure Challenges.

You can sponsor me for the race here: Adventure Challenge
Maybe you should do the race?

Names:

Just a quick note about the names of the kids in the house that you will read about: they are made up!
